Don’t Blink

Don't Blink who

I’m going to geek out for a moment and talk about the most terrifying Doctor Who monster ever created, the weeping angel. if you don’t know much about the show I can understand your confusion, whats so scary about a crying angel? Don’t Blink here are a few facts about the weeping Angel that should open your eyes (and you better keep them open).

Don't Blink crying angel

Not even the Doctor knows where they come from, but he says the are almost as old as the universe. The weeping Angel looks just like a an angel statue (usually with their hands covering their eyes, which is where the name comes from). You know the kind of statue I’m talking about you see them all the time around churches, cemetery, in parks around fountains…oh and on top of random buildings. Whats so terrifying about that? oh well the reason they look like stone is because they become quantum-locked (frozen in place like stone) when ever any creature is looking at them.

big weeping

Not so creepy? well they are also called the lonely Assassins,if one of them touches you they send you back in time before you were born.So that when you die way back when, they can feed on the potential energy of the life you would have lived in the present. Still not too bad? well the first episode of Doctor Who they appeared in was called “blink”. Because when you aren’t looking at them they move ridiculously fast.  You can alternately wink your eyes, but for gods sake don’t blink.

If that isn’t enough…”that which holds the image of an angel becomes itself an angel” so now not only are they ridiculously fast, old as time and just about everywhere, but now they can jump through your computer,or tv screen.

Oh also, if you look them directly in the eyes they can implant an image of themselves in your brain…I think Iwill just let that sink in…

For those of you who haven’t watched “Doctor Who”,or for some strange reason missed out on the Weeping Angels. They appear in these episodes so far.

“blink” (series 3)
“The Time of Angels”
“Flesh and Stone”(series 5)
they do a cameo on “the god complex”(series 6)
and “the Angels take Manhattan”(series 7).
